When a citizen comes from abroad and wants advice from DelamotteHandicap, it is important to be aware of the Danish requirements that apply to access to disability-related guidance. To ensure that we can provide high-quality advice based on the correct legal basis, we can only offer our services to citizens who have had permanent residence in Denmark for at least 5 years. This residence requirement has been set to ensure that the advice makes sense in a Danish context, as rights, support schemes and case processing in the disability area vary significantly between countries. The Danish rules are based on the citizen's permanent residence, registration in the systems and access to social rights. Therefore, it is necessary that the citizen has established himself in Denmark over a longer period of time before we can offer relevant and correct guidance. For citizens who meet the residence requirement, DelamotteHandicap offers a wide range of guidance options, including a review of rights, support schemes, documentation requirements and understanding of the Danish authority system. We can also help clarify which agencies to contact, how a case is typically handled, and what medical or social information may be necessary If the residence requirement has not yet been met, we recommend that the citizen contact the relevant Danish authorities – for example the municipality of residence – to get a general introduction to the Danish system. Only the municipalities and state authorities can offer gen eral advice to newly arrived citizens until the residence requirement is met.DelamotteHandicap wants to ensure that the advice is always correct, legally compliant and applicable. Therefore, the residence requirement is a necessary prerequisite and a central element in our work process. Once the requirements are met, we are ready to assist with competent, updated and professional advice to citizens who need support and overview in the disability area.
